Quick recap of the IMENA Beauty Extravaganza....it was a HUGE SUCCESS!!

Ok, just wanted to give a quick note on the IMENA Beauty Extravaganza. This will not be a long post because it is 3am and I need to go to bed. I will write again most likely tomorrow with more details.

I still have not come to the realization that it is over. Everyone seemed like they had a great time and I was happy with the turn out despite the rainy weather. I would like to say a special thank you to my wonderful staff of hairstylists, hostesses, manicurist and caterer. You guys did a fantastic job. The night would not have been a success without each and everyone of you.

To my guests who braved the rain and the subways to come out to support IMENA, thank you and god bless you! I so very much appreciate you. I was pleasantly surprised to see that most of the people at the event were people who I had never met before so they were trying our services for the very first time. So a special thank you to you guys. Remember, inside your giveaway bags there is a 25% off gift card for your next service with IMENA. It expires in December so be sure to put it to good use. I look forward to seeing all of you at the next event.

Now that the event is behind me all of the things that seemed to try to prevent this event from happening seem so small. I remember there were a couple of times when I just wanted to cancel the whole thing due to frustration or just getting nervous about how it was going to turn out. On those days I would read an inspirational quote I have stuck to my refrigerator. Every time I started to get afraid or nervous about pulling this thing off I would go to the refrigerator and read the quote. This is what it said:

"FEAR HOLDS US AND BINDS US AND KEEPS US FROM GROWING. IT KILLS A SMALL PIECE OF US EACH DAY. IT HOLDS US TO WHAT WE KNOW AND KEEPS US FROM WHAT'S POSSIBLE, AND IT IS OUR WORST ENEMY. FEAR DOESN'T ANNOUNCE ITSELF; IT'S DISGUISED, AND IT'S SUBTLE. IT'S CHOOSING THE SAFE COURSE; MOST OF US FEEL WE HAVE "RATIONAL" REASONS TO AVOID TAKING RISKS. THE BRAVE MAN IS NOT THE ONE WITHOUT FEAR, BUT THE ONE WHO DOES WHAT HE MUST DESPITE BEING AFRAID. TO SUCCEED, YOU MUST BE WILLING TO RISK TOTAL FAILURE; YOU MUST LEARN THIS. THEN YOU WILL SUCCEED."

I'm not sure who this quote is by but I'm glad they wrote it because it was reading this over and over that got me through the tough times of planning this event. And now that it is complete I am so happy to have done it. The journey for IMENA has just begun. The next step is to find a permanent location. We will be working hard to do that. I will be posting pictures of the IMENA Beauty Extravaganza in a couple of days. In a few weeks we should get the video posted up as well.

Only 4 days left !!

Only 4 days left until the event....I'm so excited! I'm looking forward to meeting all of the new people who are coming.

As you all probably know, fall comes with it's own set of colors and this fall it's all about dark, rich haircolor, funky cuts and smoky eyes.

We will be demonstrating these looks at the event along with fresh faced looks and dramatic lashes and eyes.

MOVING RIGHT ALONG........

Hello everyone,

I just want to encourage you to get your tickets to the Imena Beauty Extravaganza as soon as you can. I know things are tight right now with the economy and everything but we can't give up on treating ourselves well. So take this time to come out, relieve some stress and treat yourself.

We'll have all sorts of goodies for everyone and I'm really excited about that. I'll say a quick thank you to all of you who have bought your tickets already. XOXO!

GOd is GOOD!

I have had the hardest time getting flyers for this event....beleive it or not. I've been to at least five different printing places and it was a fiasco with each of them. One place actually had me come down to their offices and wait for about an hour before they told me that their graphic designer was out of town. The other places were either too much money, wouldn't order the amount of flyers I needed or were unreliable. Another place actually sent me a proof of the flier that looked like a child made it. I finally just decided to go to vistaprint.com and design it myself, which in the end turned out to be the best thing to do. I got exactly what I wanted and I spent half the amount of money I would have spent with the other designers and print companies, so big shout out to VISTA PRINT.com!!

I have a taste test coming up with my caterer on Sunday to make sure everyone gets great food. This caterer is AMAZING and her food is de-li-cious! I'll let you guys know how it goes. Talk to you later.

WE HAVE FOUND A LOCATION !!!!!

I am very happy to report that we have found a location for the event! I want to thank the HAIR BY KASIA salon for allowing us to use their space for our event. I will be updating the event flier with the address very soon. I am so grateful.. I can't tell you guys how close I was to having to push this event back due to not having a space. But God has answered my prayers.

I also want to say thank you to LADY C. for hosting a great business MEETUP meeting tonight. And to all the business owners I met at the meetup, I look forward to working with all of you very soon.

Today I also obtained the domain name for the company. www.IMENAINC.com don't try to go to the site yet because there's nothing there. I'll let you guys know when we launch the site.

A bump in the Road....

I HAVE REACHED A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD IN PLANNING THIS EVENT. WE HAVE YET TO FIND AN ADEQUATE LOCATION AND TIME IS RUNNING SHORT. I KNOW THAT GOD WILL MAKE A WAY SO I'M NOT GOING TO WORRY. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN THINKING THAT HAVING THE PARTY AT A SALON MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA SO WE'RE PURSUING THAT AVENUE AS WELL AS HAVING IT AT AN EVENT SPACE.
